The Bath Tub Races are a one-of-a-kind, high-energy event that brings the community together for a night of fun and friendly competition! Participants race creatively designed, bathtub-inspired vehicles down Main Street, competing for speed, style, and bragging rights. Whether you’re a racer or a spectator, there’s plenty of excitement with themed races, team costumes, and lots of laughter. Come join the fun, cheer on your favorite teams, and experience the quirky thrill of the Bath Tub Races! Parade of tubs begins at 6 pm with races to follow. Hulu Hoop fun during race intermission. Food vendors available. Bathtub Race t-shirts at the Chamber event along with 50/50 ducks!!

On Wednesday, the Saltwater Cowboys will swim the ponies from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island. The Ponies will swim across the Assateague Channel and come ashore on the east side of Chincoteague Island. This is going to be a big event! We plan on having over 50,000 people and if you want our best advice, plan on seeing the second swim on Friday! This is known as the swim back to Assateague. There will be less crowds and better viewing areas. Most people think the swim back to Assateague is the best swim, especially if you want the best pictures. The ponies slowly migrate back to Assateague and this creates the very best opportunity for photos. The last Friday of July will be the day of the swim back to Assateague, the time will be between 7-11am.
