About this event
This exhibition explores the evolving concept of identity in contemporary art practice, moving beyond fixed categories and traditional boundaries. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, and mixed media, artists engage with shifting personal, cultural, and social definitions – addressing hybridity, multiplicity, and fluidity in self-representation. “Surveying Post Identity” invites viewers to reconsider what shapes us and how we express belonging, difference, and transformation in an interconnected world. Curated by Professor Jinchul Kim, the exhibition features 18 artists from the Washington, D.C., and New York regions and is on display June 22-August 5 at SU Art Galleries Downtown. An opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 26.
