Started in 2001, Triple Candie curates exhibitions about art but largely without it. From 2001-10, they ran a huge gallery in a for mer brewery in Harlem. Then they worked nomadically, creating exhibitions for museums and galleries across the U.S. and Europe. In 2022, they put down roots again – this time in Washington, D.C. Their deliberately tiny, but highly visible, gallery, located in the window of a for mer hamburger restaurant, is just blocks from the U.S. Capitol.
