About this event
El Khat, led by multi-instrumentalist Eyal El Wahab of Yemeni descent, creates psychedelic electric folk music honoring a culture long disenfranchised. The ensemble combines percussion, strings, and custom-built instruments to produce euphoric, immersive soundscapes. Drawing from 1960s Yemeni folk and pop, El Wahab reinterprets Yemen’s sonic heritage through a contemporary lens, crafting music that is both otherworldly and deeply grounded in the realities of war, displacement, and cultural resilience. Admission if free, but tickets are required.
