About this event
Dorothy Parker roared like a lioness through the 1920s. Critic, poet, Hollywood screenwriter, and champion of civil rights, she built a career defined by her wit and incisive commentary on contemporary America. The first thing I do in the morning is brush my teeth and sharpen my tongue. Her poems, often dismissed as “light verse,” challenged the stereotype of the demure woman in a male-dominated power structure. Join Poet Nancy Mitchell for a rollicking celebration in a presentation of Parker’s life. Refreshments will be provided, and a prize if you come in costume!!
