Acclaimed maritime historian Marcus Rediker will explore these overlooked seaborne routes, sharing deeply researched tales that illuminate the little-known stories of freedom seekers who turned their sights to the sea. Join us Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Van Lennep Auditorium or virtually for the final public program presented in connection with the special exhibition Sailing to Freedom: Maritime Dimensions of the Underground Railroad, on view in the Changing Exhibitions Gallery through the end of the year.
