Fish the Nanticoke River (including tributaries like Marshyhope Creek and Barren Creek) targeting Blue Catfish and Northern Snakeheads, which act as predators to the declining striped bass and blue crab populations. Launch: Anytime Lines In: 6 a.m. Weigh-In: 1 p.m. Awards & Participation Prizes/Invasive Species Info Sessions: 2 p.m. • Data from all fish caught will be collected at the tournament, but participants may leave with fillets. • Fishing gear available to borrow and instructors available for new anglers. • Maryland Tidal Fishing License required for participants 16 years old and up on most of the river. (There is a license-free zone at the park and a comparable Delaware license is needed for those fishing in Delaware waters.) Sponsored by the Coastal Conservation Association Maryland. No entry fee and over $1,500 in prizes. Additional prizes for those who participate in their annual, free Great Chesapeake Invasives Count.
